Meet Bret Daniels
Citrus Heights Vice Mayor Bret Daniels is the Conservative candidate to succeed Supervisor Sue Frost, who is retiring, for Sacramento County Supervisor in District 4. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force, a former Sheriff’s Deputy and a current member of the Citrus Heights City Council.
Bret was a strong advocate for developing the first Citrus Heights Police Department and has served on the City Council for more than 12 years. He has served on numerous regional boards including the Solid Waste Authority, the Sacramento Transportation Authority, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality District.
Elected to his current term on the City Council in 2016 and reelected in 2020, Bret had previously been elected in 1999 and reelected in 2002. He served as Vice Mayor in 2004 and as Mayor in 2005. He successfully helped to defeat the City’s efforts to raise the utility tax in 2012 and the sales tax in 2020.
Bret enjoyed a twenty-year law enforcement career including stints in the United States Air Force in Torrejon, Spain, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and in the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
He is a Founding Member and President of Toys for the Troops’ Kids, a non-profit charitable organization that provides toys to the kids of our military service members during Christmas.
Bret lived in the North Sacramento area until the age of 12 before he moved to Citrus Heights in 1973 when his father took a job at the then recently opened Sunrise Mall. He is a member of Heights Church in Citrus Heights where he has served as the Team Leader for Security. He is married with four children and four granddaughters and has served as a PTA President and Little League Coach.
Bret believes there is no better calling then serving others and looks forward to the honor of serving all the residents and business owners in Rio Linda, Elverta, North Highlands, Antelope, Citrus Hts, Orangevale, Folsom, and Rancho Murieta.
